What is a 300 hour teacher training program?

We consider our 300 hour programs Advanced Studies. While 200 hour programs are absolutely necessary before becoming a yoga teacher, sometimes they fall short. In even the highest quality 200 hour yoga instructor certifications, there is only so much you can learn in that limited amount of time. A 300 hour certification demonstrates that you have made a deeper commitment towards self-growth, as well as the commitment to broadening your yoga tool box as a teacher, so that you can take it all to the next level. In a 300 hour program, you are showing your true dedication to higher learning, as youve offered up your precious time to broaden your studies of yoga, diving more deeply not only into the rich history, art and science of yoga, but into yourself and your own personal practice as well. Our programs give you the opportunity to have some choice in what inspires you the most to learn, as well as some flexibility in scheduling your course work. We offer two amazing choices in your Advanced Studies training:

Your Yoga Instructor Certification
Begin Anytime 11 Required Modules. Our most popular 300 hour yoga instructor certification: you have several years to pick and choose your courses to most enhance your own teaching style. This is our most flexible program.

Therapeutics Certification
This 300 hour yoga instructor certification was designed specifically to address the therapeutic applications of yoga using asana, meditation, pranayama, energy anatomy (chakras/nadis), ayurveda and yoga psychology; one weekend a month for 10 weekends with a final week long- wrap up.

Which Program is Best for Me?

When choosing a yoga instructor certification, you need to ask yourself what your priorities are. Well rounded or more specialized?

If you want a well rounded education and if you are only going to take one of our 300hr programs then the Advanced Studies Track makes the most sense. With this track, you get to dive deeper into Anatomy, Therapeutics, and various specialties like Prenatal and Seniors. If you want to specialize exclusively in the therapeutic application of yoga, then the Therapeutics program makes the most sense. It is geared mostly towards working in Private Yoga Therapy sessions: one of one with people; or in therapeutic classroom situation.

What are modules?

Weve built the Your Yoga program around the module concept. There are required modules you need to take and some that are left up to your choice or concentration. Modules in short are events around a specific aspect of yoga. They are anywhere from 2-7 days long, generally over a weekend. Modules are taught either by one of our experienced staff members or an international yoga teacher. We bring some of the biggest names in the industry to our studio and programs. In our Your Yoga Instructor Certification Program, you decide which particular module you take, at what time and taught by whom. Modules are generally open to the public as well, so you will be joined by experienced teachers as well as aspiring enthusiasts. Modules can be taken by someone not going after a 300hr certification, though if they decide later to pursue the 300hr certification, they can retroactively include the modules theyve already taken. Yoga Alliance

Yoga Alliance (YA) acknowledges 300hr yoga instructor certifications only if you have taken all 300 hours from the same school. Asheville Yoga Center meets their requirements: Advanced Studies, Therapeutic Yoga Instructor Certifications.
