Well, well, well.... its been a loooong time. Lots of stuff to write about but just couldn't get myself to write. I did a second round of vipassana and it definitely was a much better experience than the first time. The fact that old students get to be in the Pagoda most of the times makes a huge difference. Well its been about 6 months since i did it.
But, recently something that I thought will never happen just happened. Swapnil has been and is a strong, dedicated follower of Isha Yoga for quite some years now. He had been telling me to join the Isha Yoga courses and check it out but I kept avoiding it as I had decided that Vipassana would be the only path that I would follow. I was quite sure I would not take up any Isha Yoga course.
But a series of events and I happened to join the Isha Yoga course of Inner Engineering. My close friend and business partner Sailesh who happens to run away from anything spiritual suddenly felt that his life has become too stressful and needed to deal with his ever increasing stress Well, he single handedly was dealing with all day to day office headaches right from employee interaction to software to bpo services to client billing, so his stress was inevitable. So he happened to call up Swapnil and asked him about stress relief programmes. The next day, Swapnil landed up in office and told me that sailesh was going to join the Isha Yoga course. There was an introductory talk that day for which swapnil convinced me to come. I was pretty excited that Sailesh was actually going to join the course and after the talk was encouraging him to join it. In just a few minutes, the whole discussion led to me joining the course too. Since sailesh was there for company, I thought I would give it a try and the very next day found myself attending the course.
Inner Engineering ia a 7 day course. 3 hours a day for 5 days, 5 hours and 12 hours the remaining two days. The course teaches Shambhavi Mahamudra kriya. From what I can understand Isha Yoga seems to follow the path of Kriya Yoga which means it deals with the energies in the body. I will not go into the details of the course but it was quite an experience. During the initiation, I was shivering and shaking all over. Probably, it must have been due to the energies of so many people around. But, after the initiation to this day whenever I practice the Shambhavi Mahamudra I am shivering all over though not with the same intensity as on the day of initiation. Dunno whats it all about.
But now I happen to be doing both vipassana and isha yoga practices. No idea where all this is heading to........
