Welcome to Patanjali Centre for Classical Yoga
The Patanjali Yoga Centre was founded by Sri Swami Indrananda Ji (Sri Indar Nath 9.11.23 19.12.07) in 1972 with a view to spreading the true message of Yoga in Great Britain and abroad.
It was registered with the Charity Commission in 1982 and its aims are:
- To advance public education in the classical teachings of the science of Yoga, upon the principles of the highest standards of personal conduct and service to others.
- To promote and advance for the public benefit the study and practice of and research into the therapeutic effects of Yoga as a means of improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of the community, and to publish the useful results of any such research.
In 1988 an Ashram was established in Battle, East Sussex (where the Battle of Hastings was fought in 1066), to impart the classical teachings of Yoga to serious aspirants and others. Swami Indrananda Ji moved to this place in August 1989.
Inspired by Swamiji the Centre is now run by the Trustee
