Allow us to introduce you to a system of health promotion and stress management which focuses on the special needs of heart patients. Yoga for individuals who have had a cardiac incident promotes a heart-healthy lifestyle through the practice of gentle yoga exercises, deep relaxation, stretching, breathing, and healing imagery. The program is tailored for people who are at-risk for cardiac problems, are living with a cardiac condition, or recovering from cardiac disease or surgery.
This course has been approved by cardiac rehab programs for compatibility with traditional care.
Participation is not limited to cardiac patients, we welcome all students wishing to experience the therapeutic aspects of yoga.
Lesley Anne has been an anthropologist, counsellor, minister, theologian, and educator in both Canada and Southern Africa. Although she no longer preaches (well, rarely) she still teaches, committed to the philosophy of life-long learning. Lesley Anne enjoys sharing the gifts yoga offers...greater strength and flexibility, confidence, ease, and the joy of well being. For L.A., yoga practice nurtures health and resilience, celebrating the possibility of authentic happiness. Lesley Anne lives in Centretown with her partner Andrew, and little white dog, Elsie Mokete. ('Mokete' is the Sesotho word for celebration)
